M.A.C and Bobbi Brown provide opportunities for industry trained and qualified Makeup Artists to join as Casuals, Part Timers and Full Timers. These employees par take in a one year course with an external training provider to teach them basic, trend, TV, Film and Theatre makeup artistry skills.
It is an expectation that Makeup Artists are required to harness their inner creativity to create a new look each day based on the current colour collections and trends. The main responsibility a Retail Makeup Artist has is to educate customers on products and applications demonstrating correct application techniques.
Above and beyond the retail aspect of their roles, select Makeup Artists in M.A.C and Bobbi Brown also participate in Public Relations events such as Fashion Week.
The pinnacle of the Retail Makeup Artists career at M.A.C and Bobbi Brown is to become Senior Artist for Australia. The Senior Artist represents the brand on an international level; as such the role requires a large quantity of travel per year. Responsibilities include facilitating and directing fashion shows at Australian Fashion Week and at fashion events throughout the year, conducting media interviews and creating individualised make up for magazine and TV media shoots. It is essential that the Senior Artist builds and develops key internal relationships with Makeup Artists through training workshops which focus on the development of the artist make up artistry ability. External relationships with existing and new associations with key industry figures and sponsored artists need to be nurtured through the management and facilitation of Master classes.
For the aspiring or established Makeup Artist we also offer artistry opportunities in Estee Lauder. These positions require a minimum of 3 years experience in the industry, preferably gained in theatre, TV, magazine, film or cosmetic industry. Estee Lauder Makeup Artist is a part of the travelling team and such travel to various department stores and pharmacies usually within the metropolitan area.
